About Me
Hi I’m Tandy, a certified Reiki Master/Practitioner (Usui Lineage) and the hands and heart behind Soul Fire Reiki, a name that came to me during a healing session with my mom.
I was born and raised in AZ., where I reside, but I've never really felt like I belong here, in the desert. Maybe it’s because my family roots are from back east, I’ve always felt a strong connection with my ancestors and I enjoy learning about my family lineage and history, a part of what makes me who I am today. I’ve also always had an interest in and enjoy learning about ancient civilizations, astronomy, sacred geometry, physics and of course spirituality. It’s exciting to think about all the things they’re finally discovering, learning and understanding about the history of our earth, the cosmos and the unseen world we live in.
I think its great that energy healing is now being integrated into some medical facilities in order to be used along side traditional medical treatments for whole body wellness (mind, body, spirit) I also believe sound frequency as well as meditation, yoga, what we are consuming and surround ourselves with etc. can all play a big part in our ability to heal ourselves and be healthy overall.
Additionally, I love being creative! making jewelry, sewing etc. I feel like everyone should have some type of creative outlet, it’s good for the soul! That being said, my handmade items are also available for purchase ( Lavender packs & Jewelry)
In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors (when it’s not too hot) and visiting with my daughters and grandkids. I like taking occasional trips to Sedona and cooler spots up north especially in the summer. I can’t forget about my cat Milo (AKA) Mystic Milo, a very handsome and loving Russian Blue. He follows me everywhere and has to be a part of everything I do.
What led me to Reiki
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always known there’s more to this world than meets the eye. I’ve always felt like there was someone watching over me, guiding me along the way, and that no matter what I was going through, I was going to be okay. I also always thought I had a Casper that followed me around because I’ve been having experiences my whole life, but I knew it was much more than that. Between the dreams, unexplainable things with lights, electronics, seeing or hearing things beyond the physical. I’ve experienced all the Clairs (intuitive sensing) at some point, and the synchronicities, don’t even get me started! It was never really scary though, just something there, always trying to get my attention. I’ve written a lot of these experiences down in a notebook. My daughters used to take it and read some of the stories to their friends around Halloween, just for fun.
It really wasn’t until about 9 years ago when I discovered meditation, the OM symbol with its meaning, etc., that my perspective started to shift and when I discovered reiki , that was an aha! moment for me. I knew that was a thing! And now it had a name! It was 23 years ago, when my youngest was a baby and she was not feeling well. I remember lying in bed with her that night and placing my hand on her forehead while thinking somehow I could energetically make her feel better. Then right after that thought, that’s dumb, why would you think you would be able to do that? So of course my first thought upon discovering and reading about reiki was, I guess that’s not such a crazy idea after all! It was after this that one thing led to another, and things just started to click. As I was reading about and discovering other spiritual practices and traditions, I took from them the things that resonated and aligned with what I felt was true for me.
I believe in the end it is all the same. We are all one, a unified universal energy source, God, the Divine, whatever you want to call it. I also believe everyone is magical in their own right. Spirit has a way of guiding us, whether through synchronicities, people, things, etc. I believe I was led to Reiki, and it has opened the door to a part of myself that I have always known was there and to what I also knew was possible but hadn’t yet understood. It continues to guide me on this ever-evolving journey of healing, learning, and connection. There is nothing more fulfilling than being able to help someone who is struggling. I believe the obstacles I’ve overcome in my own life allow me to do this with deep compassion and understanding. And for that, I am truly grateful.
